So what does this Team do and how can I fit in?
Good question. The Facilities
team basically oversees the efficient operation of the Eastminster
church complex. Such responsibilities include:
-
Budget for church furniture
-
Monitoring the award of maintenance and service
contracts
-
Maintain the Transportation Policy
-
Responsible for safety and fire prevention for the
church
-
Maintain the church security entrance codes
-
Perform an annual inventory of capital equipment
-
Responsible for Church A/V equipment
-
Maintain architectural drawings
-
Maintain the church sign
-
Perform weekly repairs to the facility
-
Weed, trim and edge grass and bushes on the grounds
-
Maintain the irrigation system
-
Maintaining and implementing of the Disaster
Management Plan
So what can I do to help?
You are most welcome to participate in
any of the above responsibilities. There are many volunteer
tasks such as minor painting, cabinet building, picture hanging,
chair repair, equipment moving, window repair, cleaning and many
other minor repairs. These tasks are usually accomplished as a
group on the
2st Saturday Morning Work
Day, each month.
Another way to volunteer is to choose an
exterior area of the church grounds and be responsible for the
up-keep of that area.
(As an example, pull weeds in the
landscape bed area under the flag pole. You could come and go
and accomplish this task on your time when it best fits your
schedule.)
