Thanks
for taking the time to talk with us Lou.
It's always a pleasure.
So, you went to a Promise Keepers (PK) event last
year in Orlando? Was that your first time to go?
Yes, and it was worth much more than it
cost.
Did you have some
opinions about what you were getting into?
I'd
heard from others at Eastminster that a PK event, like that one
called Uprising 2004, had the capability of opening my heart to more
possibilities in life.
So tell us, what was
the most important thing that happened for you or the most moving
time you remember? What made it all worth while for you?
Well, when
we were all called to stand up and move closer to the stage and
given the opportunity to accept Christ into our lives, I hesitated
at first, but then stood up and joined the other men in the movement
toward the stage and acceptance. I became a part of the multitude of
men of all creeds, colors, and convictions joining in that single
personal action - I knew then that there is hope for the world
because of the commitments being made all around me, and that I was
an integral hugging, laughing, crying, singing part of the good men
of our country. What a feeling!
But that was not the only "moving" time
for me - the camaraderie and conversation during the car trips over
and back, plus during our night in Orlando, rounded out the
experience as I gained insight from my fellow attendees.
That's great Lou. Anything
else you want us to know……
Uprising 2004 brought me closer to a
good life, and to the men in our church, and to the church itself. I
expect that Awakening 2005 will continue that positive movement
toward a better life in Christ.
Are you're thinking
about going back this year?
Yes, in fact I am one of the first to
sign up for the August 19-20, 2005 event, called the Awakening, in
Orlando, again with a group from Eastminster.
Thanks for taking the time to share some thoughts on
Promise Keepers and allowing us to get to know you better.
See you in Orlando!
You're welcome.
