My guess is that we're the longest married members of Eastminster that were married in the church here. I had been attending the Congregational Church across the river on US 1 and Strawbridge, now "His Place Ministries", and was in the Air Force stationed in Maryland. Dory had just moved to Melbourne from New Jersey, and loved the river setting of the old sanctuary in Indialantic, so we talked to Dr. MacLean about marrying us there.
After moving back to Melbourne in 1961, we attended the First Methodist Church until moving to Indialantic in 1966. We then spent several years at St. Marks Methodist on A1A, and joined Eastminster in the early 1970s, and immediately got involved in the youth program.
Dory later served several years with the Deacons, and has been an active volunteer in many church groups, Stephen Ministers, etc. I am just completing my second term of service as an Elder, participated in preparation of three long range plans, and was a member of the CMC building committee.
We have been greatly blessed by Eastminster, the pastors and the wonderful congregation through out the years, and have been privileged to contribute to the work of Eastminster.
