- Peronia, Guatemala

Where did you go?

Peronia, Guatemala (right outside of Guatemala City) The ministry we worked with the entire week was called Casa Verde ministries.  It is directed/ run by a local missionary named Chris Schoff who was our guide and facilitator for the week.

Who Went?

About 10 kids and five adults plus one missionary who is based in that city and was our guide/facilitator for the week

What was the focus?

Our purpose was to spread the love of Christ and to bring the hope that comes from knowing him to the children and people of Peronia. While there, we witnessed God continue to bring light to a very dark place as He raises up an army that He will use to save souls and overcome the strongholds that the enemy has on that city.

What was the schedule?

         1. Construction- We laid concrete for a play area/ soccer field for the kids who attend Casa Verde where they can have a safe place to play off of the streets.  (the pictures show the progression of what we did during the week including digging a footer for a wall)

        2. Worship and teaching- Each night we worked with a different age group of kids (from high school to three year olds)  Our group led worship and had a small amount of teaching each night.  We also visited two local churches and two schools where our group led worship and taught as well.

        3. Skits and puppet shows- Each time we ministered to a different group of people, we performed skits and puppet shows for them.  The puppet shows were mainly for the younger kids but we performed skits for all of the groups we worked with.

        4. Prayer ministry- Each time we finished working with a different group we would end it by dispersing and praying for each person there.  God worked in mighty ways during this time, and He was constantly wowing us with the ways that He touched and changed people's lives (including our own) :)

Sarah Harris

- Edinburgh, Scotland

Jackie Tracy & Alexis Haber

- CHINANDEGA, Nicaragua

Kyle Kaminski

-Camp Alkulana, Virginia USA

Camp Alkulana---- For the past three years Kyle has devoted 12 weeks out of each summer to be a camp counselor at Camp Alkulana. This past summer his time was cut short due to flooding at the camp and a commitment to a study abroad program.

Camp Alkulana is located in the Allegheny Mountains of Virginia and has been serving inner city children of Richmond, Virginia since 1915. The camps mission statement says that it exists to make a difference in children's lives by revealing God's existence as reflected in nature and His love as demonstrated by camp leaders and proclaimed in His word and worship.

Kyle hopes to return to Camp next summer after graduating from Stetson.
