At Eastminster we have the privilege of enjoying some of the finest music found in churches anywhere.  The variety extends from traditional classical music to contemporary popular worship music. 

Traditional Worship Music

We are very fortunate to have David G. Vogeding on staff at Eastminster. David brings to Eastminster his professional leadership as Director of Music and Organist. 

 Chancel Choir

Eastminster has an adult Chancel Choir that provides music for the two Sunday morning worship meetings.  At any one time there may be 35 members of the Chancel Choir.  In addition to the two Sunday services the Chancel choir also performs during the Easter Services, the Christmas Services and also provide special opportunities through out the year for musicals and special events to compliment Eastminster’s unique worship experiences.

Rehearsal is each Thursday evening at 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on the second floor of the CMC (see Campus Map). 

Calvin Singers

An equally talented group of individuals calls themselves the Calvin Singers.  This group is made up of Eastminster members and community members as well.  The Calvin Singers provide unique choral music for special occasions.  The Calvin Singers provide music for the 8:15 a.m. Sunday worship on the 1^st, 3^rd and 4^th Sunday morning.

The Calvin Singers rehearse on 1^st, 3^rd and 5^th Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m.  If you would like to try out for this special choir contact David at the church office (321)723-8371.

Children’s Choir

The children at Eastminster also have musical opportunities.  We believe that the Bible stories set to music will live on from childhood to adulthood.  The children’s choir activities are highlighted throughout the year, but especially during Easter, Christmas, and Vacation Bible School.

If you have a school age child and desire that he/she be exposed to music with some redeeming life giving value, then contact the church and ask about the children’s choir director.

The Hand Bells

     Alleluia Bells (the adult hand bell group) is a talented group of Hand Bell performers.  The adult Bells rehearsal takes place on Wednesday evening from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

       The Youth Handbells, youth “Bells,” have their rehearsal on Tuesday afternoon at 4:15 p m.

Indialantic Chamber Singers (ICS)

     The Indialantic Chamber Singers (ICS) is under the direction of David Vogeding and loosely connected with Eastminster.  Members are made up of the Eastminster as well as singers and musicians from the surrounding community.  The central theme is of course to glorify God through the musical experience and just have fun in the process.

     The Chamber Singers have performed in such prestigious locations as the National Cathedral in Washington, DC (pictured above).   More often they perform on the East coast of Florida, USA.

Contemporary Popular Worship Music

     Equally appreciated and on the other end of the spectrum is the contemporary music enjoyed at the worship meetings on Saturday night and the Immersed Gathering on Thursday evening at 9:00 p.m.

Saturday Night Meeting

     James (Ivy) Iverson is at the focal point of all of the leading edge contemporary music in the local Christian community.  Ivy has a wonderful talent as the Worship leader for the Saturday night meetings. Each Saturday evening the Immersed band leads the worship meeting with songs and expressions that communicate the message of Christ’s love to a lost generation.  Many times the band will feature the musical talents of someone new.

Immersed Music Gathering

     The college age students from Eastminster and the surrounding area attend the Immersed Gathering on Thursday evenings at 9:00 p.m.  Immersed is designed to encourage and address the needs of collage age students and adults alike.  The evening format is based on a contemporary approach to reach out through music and the good news about Jesus.  Guest speakers are common and are usually drawn from the local area.  Immersed meets in the large CMC on campus. Vacation Bible School (VBS)

     Vacation Bible School is a real highlight activity for the children of the beach community and Eastminster.  Music plays a big part in Eastminster's VBS.  For years the children’s music director has done a wonderful job of instilling the music of fun.  Each year a new theme is introduced to the children with an exciting new series of songs.  Don’t miss out on this opportunity for your children to have a great week at Eastminster.  This is a real community event with possibly over 200 children attending this year.  It takes place in June of each year.
