Presbyterians are engaged in mission work, in the United States and worldwide. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) works with partner churches and organizations in more than 100 countries and has appointed mission personnel to serve in nearly 70 countries.
Through your gifts, missionaries are establishing a home for street children in Brazil, helping in Haiti, evangelizing college students in Ethiopia, providing vital medical care to the neglected elderly in Lebanon, and training youth in the United States to be missionaries of tomorrow.
Following his Word continues to be our charter. Each of you remains the key to our success. We, and those that we minister to, thank you.

Worldwide Mission Opportunities MEXICO MISSION TRIP - An exploratory trip to Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, sponsored by BIRP, to identify needs of the area near the San Pablo Presbyterian Seminary and select projects for a full mission trip to that area next year, including cabin-building, water purification system installation, improvement in schools, housing for the elderly and campground development. AMAZON MISSION TRIP - An annual trek sponsored by the Ft. Lauderdale First Presbyterian Church. Operation Christmas Child
COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL- Eastminster was chosen as one of only a few churches to participate in the program in El Salvador. Pastor Jeff & David Beckwith returned from a fact-finding tour to implore the congregation to sponsor children and to aid the mission of the local church. To find out more about this, go to www.compassion.com.
Local Missions
A shoebox filled with small toys, toiletries, and other gifts can open a child’s heart to God’s love. If you’d like to help with this ministry, please pick up a shoebox after worship services, beginning in October; boxes are collected in November. To learn more about this program, or read children’s testimonials, go to www.samaritanspurse.org.
The Christmas Joy Offering
One Great Hour of Sharing
Did you know that funds from One Great Hour of Sharing were some of the first to be used to help Haiti after the earthquake? We can ALL play a part in helping to provide disaster assistance, eliminate hunger, and bring equality to the disabled and poor, wherever in the world it’s needed, by contributing to One Great Hour of Sharing. Envelopes are put in the bulletins prior to Palm Sunday, to be collected during the service on Palm Sunday. May we open our hearts to share our resources with others in this way.
Support Checklist
To help determine whether a cause is one that Eastminster might support, we use a comprehensive checklist. To view/print this list, click here.
